Baby Kate: Two Months Old

Kate’s Two Month “Birthday” fell on her Aunt Katie’s wedding day!

Weight & Height: At her two month appointment, she weighed 10 lbs, 11 oz (26%), measured 23 1/2 inches long (84%), and her head clocked in at 40 1/4 cm (92%).  I asked the doctor if she was concerned about her weight, and she wasn’t at all–as long as she is continuing to eat/pee/poop regularly (she is), the doctor said that was just fine.  She might just be long and lean like daddy!

Eating:  Still eating every 2-3 hours during the day, usually between 3-4 oz each time (when she has to take a bottle from when I’ve pumped).

Sleeping (naps):  Still the queen of crap naps. 🙂  But I will take this any day considering she sleeps so well at night!  Usually she’ll take 3-4 naps a day that average 30-45 minutes.

Sleeping (at night):  Bedtime is getting earlier, which is good!  She’ll usually fall asleep for the night around 10 or so, wake up between 4 and 5 to eat, then go back asleep for a couple of hours.

Clothing:  Officially into 0-3 month clothes!  Some are actually getting too tight because of her length.

New this month:  She loves to “talk”!  She will just sit and have a “cooing” conversation with you for the longest time.  She’s also become more aware of everything: faces, Montana, toys.

Nicknames:  Sweet girl, Sweet pea, Peanut, Miss Kate

Kate likes:

-To smile!  She is one of the happiest babies I’ve ever been around…and I promise I’m not just saying that because she’s mine.

-She LOVES to nurse, which makes me so happy!  She will take a bottle, but sometimes you’ll have to work with her for a couple minutes before she latches on.

-Being walked/bounced/swung in her car seat

-To be spoken to, especially in a high pitched voice.

-Still a morning girl!

Kate dislikes:

Pretty much the same as last month…

-Sleeping during the day (usually)

-Getting bathed
